Lovers of Marvel's creations such as the Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Captain America, Iron Man and more will be delighted with the Comic Pavilion featuring at the Sharjah International Book Fair, SIBF, 2015 for the first time. Organised in partnership with ComicCave, the UAE's largest distributor of comics, the 150 sq. metre Comic Pavilion will be sited in the main hall during the fair from November 4th -14th at the Expo Centre, in participation with 26 specialised publishing houses.
The Comic Pavilion is suitable for all age groups and in addition to teenage favourites and superheroes, there will be cartoon characters and Hello Kitty for younger visitors to the book fair as well as Manga, the Japanese graphic novel for older visitors.
Action figures and toys as well as books will also be on sale and there will be a range of activities, events and signings.
Faisal Al Naboodah, Sales Officer, International, said, "This is an exciting new addition to the Book Fair and is sure to delight visitors young and old. Aimed at all ages, it will feature favourite brands and genres such as Marvel's Avengers, which is one of the biggest movies of the year globally. In 2015, everywhere you look you see comics and whilst we expect young adults to enjoy visiting the Comic Pavilion, we also expect it will be overrun with youngsters keen to enjoy a read with their favourite superheroes."
Fans of the comic genre will get the opportunity to choose between specialised titles such as Attack On Titan, a Japanese comics series with more than 52.5 million copies in print, or a highly anticipated book, 'Sandman: Overture', a graphic novel by the English author, Neil Gaiman. Also available is 'Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets' by Luc Besson, based on a French comic book which is also a hotly anticipated new movie. Graphic novels in the Walking Dead series are also on display. The show is aired in over 200 markets and fans can purchase a selection of the series during the event.
Because lovers of comics are also usually consumers of t-shirts, toys and games based on their favourite comic characters, selected merchandise will also be on sale during the book fair. Comic conventions from Shanghai to San Diego, Angouleme to Jakarta, draw hundreds of thousands of people every year, often with visitors dressed as their favourite comic book heroes and organisers of this year's SIBF are anticipating a great response from visitors to the Comic Pavilion.
